The HERTEL 750403 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. With a 0.25 inch cutting diameter, a 1.5 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length, this tool handles slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in a wide range of materials. The four-flute, spiral design with a 30-degree helix angle improves chip evacuation and surface finish. A TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating increases surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in abrasive applications. The centercutting geometry allows plunge cutting directly into the workpiece. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, this end mill holds tight tolerances and performs consistently in production and job-shop settings.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and high-speed spindle setups where a 0.25 inch shank is required. The extra-long length type and 1.5 inch length of cut make it practical for deeper cavity work and shoulder milling. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional spindle rotation. It is commonly used by machinists working with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials where a TiCN finish provides a performance advantage over uncoated tooling.
Designed as a standard 0.25 inch shank square end mill compatible with collet chucks, end mill holders, and tool holders accepting a 0.25 inch shank diameter in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for toolholder torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the tool's rated depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material.
