The HERTEL 750277 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 1/2 inch cutting diameter and a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, this two-flute tool delivers efficient material removal in a single-end configuration. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, the 750277 offers the rigidity and wear resistance required for demanding ferrous and non-ferrous machining. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well suited for applications where coating compatibility is a concern. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers of this tooling.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in machining centers and manual mills. The extra-long length classification, combined with a 3 inch overall length and a 1/2 inch shank diameter, provides reach into deeper pockets and stepped features. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling setups. It is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry into workpieces without a pre-drilled hole. This tool is appropriate for production shops, tool rooms, and job shops running light to moderate material removal rates.
Designed as a standard-shank square end mill compatible with 1/2 inch ER collets, end mill holders, and similar toolholding systems used in CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or removing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
