The HERTEL 750259 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in metal and hard-material machining applications. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 3 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length, making it well suited for deep-reach profiling and slotting operations. The tool is coated with TiCN (titanium carbonitride) for improved hardness and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. Four spiral flutes in a right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction deliver efficient chip evacuation. The 30-degree helix angle balances cutting force and surface finish across a range of feed rates and materials. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals using CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is used in ferrous and non-ferrous metal cutting, including steel, stainless, and cast iron, as well as hardened alloys where TiCN coating extends tool life. The extra-long length type and 3 inch length-of-cut range make it appropriate for deep-cavity milling, long-reach profiling, and die work where standard-length tools cannot reach. It is a centercutting design, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled entry hole. The 1 inch shank diameter matches standard ER and side-lock collet chucks and shrink-fit holders common in production shops.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or upgrade end mill for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills using standard 1 inch collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, or side-lock tool holders. No specific OEM model compatibility was stated by the manufacturer for this part.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures for rotating cutting tools. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before installing or removing the tool from the holder. Verify collet or holder runout with a dial indicator before taking first cuts, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. Follow machine manufacturer feed-and-speed guidelines and do not exceed the rated depth of cut for the holder type in use.
