The HERTEL 750174 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metal, composites, and other hard materials. It features a 7/32-inch (0.2188 inch) cutting diameter, a 5/8-inch length of cut, and a 1/4-inch shank diameter for secure toolholder engagement. The four-flute, spiral-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. This is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration with centercutting capability, allowing plunge entry into workpieces. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this end mill in CNC machining centers and manual mills for slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations.
The 750174 is suited for general-purpose milling applications in production shops, maintenance environments, and toolroom settings. Its uncoated solid carbide construction makes it appropriate for use in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a base carbide substrate is preferred, or where the operator applies cutting fluid to manage heat. With a 2-1/2-inch overall length and a compact cutting zone, this end mill fits standard collet and end mill holder setups. It is sold and packaged as a single unit.
Designed as a standard replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/4-inch shank diameter toolholder or collet.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with toolholder torque requirements and runout verification. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as solid carbide is brittle and can fracture if subjected to interrupted cuts beyond its rated capacity.
