The HERTEL 750163 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for consistent performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The cutter measures 7/32 inch (0.2188 inches) in diameter with a 1/4 inch (0.2500 inches) shank and features a 30-degree helix angle for efficient chip evacuation. With a 1 inch length of cut and 2-1/2 inch overall length, this extra-long configuration gives machinists reach for deeper cavity work. It is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is suited for manual mills, CNC machining centers, and tool-and-die applications where small-diameter, tight-tolerance cuts are required. The 2-flute geometry provides chip clearance in slotting and profiling passes, making it a practical choice for aluminum, brass, plastics, and softer steels. The right-hand cut, uncoated finish, and single-end configuration are standard in general-purpose shop environments. Machinists running small-bore work or die cavities will find the extra-long reach useful where standard-length tools cannot access the full depth of cut.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 1/4 inch collets and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills requiring a 7/32 inch cutting diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing tooling. Seat the 1/4 inch shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates carbide edge wear on small-diameter tools.
