The HERTEL 750148 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. It features a 13/64 inch (0.2031 inch) cutting diameter with a 5/8 inch length of cut and a 1/4 inch shank diameter, giving it a compact profile suited to tight-tolerance work. The two-flute geometry and 30-degree right-hand spiral helix promote efficient chip evacuation during slotting, profiling, and plunge cutting. Machined from micrograin solid carbide and left uncoated (bright finish), this end mill delivers consistent cutting performance on a range of workpiece materials. It is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry without a pilot hole.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and toolroom applications where small-diameter precision cutting is required. The 1/4 inch shank fits standard ER collets and end mill holders commonly found in light-duty to medium-duty spindles. Its 2-1/2 inch overall length provides adequate reach for most shallow-to-moderate pocket and slot geometries without sacrificing rigidity. Machinists working on aluminum, brass, mild steel, and similar materials will find this a practical tool for finish passes and detail work at small diameters.
Designed as a standard solid carbide square end mill with a 1/4 inch shank, compatible with ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and other 1/4 inch bore toolholding systems used in CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following safe toolchange procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Seat the shank to the recommended insertion depth in the collet or holder and torque the retention nut per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, particularly when working at small diameters where runout has a proportionally larger effect on tool life and surface finish.
