The HERTEL 750116 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 5/16 inch cutting diameter with a 1-1/8 inch length of cut and a 3 inch overall length. The two-flute spiral design with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This uncoated carbide tool is center-cutting, meaning it can plunge directly into a workpiece as well as cut laterally. It is sized and configured for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and similar machine tools where tight tolerances and repeatable results are required by skilled machinists and toolroom operators.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and plunge milling in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The right-hand cut orientation and spiral flute geometry make it a practical choice for general-purpose milling in production and job shop settings. The 5/16 inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, allowing it to fit standard collets and tool holders sized for that bore. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both light finishing passes and moderate material removal applications.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style solid carbide square end mill suitable for standard 5/16 inch collets, ER collet chucks, and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
This tool is installed by qualified machinists familiar with rotating cutting tool safety. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and power is locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from its holder. Confirm collet or holder bore size matches the 5/16 inch shank before tightening. Follow machine tool manufacturer torque specifications for toolholder retention and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut.
