The HERTEL 750078 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in tight geometries and small-feature applications. With a 1/32 inch (0.0313 inch) cutting diameter and a 5/64 inch (0.0781 inch) length of cut, this tool is built for micro-scale slotting, profiling, and contouring in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 30-degree helix spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The uncoated solid carbide construction delivers rigidity and wear resistance suited to CNC machining centers and manual mills running close-tolerance work.
This end mill is used in production and prototype machining environments where small-diameter tooling is required. Typical applications include mold and die work, fine detail engraving passes, miniature component profiling, and narrow slot milling in aluminum, brass, steel, and similar machinable materials. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet systems and small toolholders common in CNC mills and benchtop machining centers. Right-hand cut orientation suits conventional spindle setups. Machinists and toolroom technicians working on precision parts will find this tool appropriate for finish passes and detailed feature work where rigidity and accurate geometry matter.
Designed as a standard small-diameter square end mill fitting any toolholder or collet chuck accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter, compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills configured for right-hand cutting tools.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before loading or changing tooling. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully into the collet or toolholder and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specification. At the 1/32 inch diameter, this tool is highly susceptible to breakage from excessive feed rates, runout, or improper extension length — verify collet runout and minimize shank overhang before initiating a cut.
