The HERTEL 750023 is a 2-flute, solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. With a 0.25 inch cutting diameter, a 0.5 inch length of cut, and a 2 inch overall length, this tool is built for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling on CNC and manual mills. The 30-degree spiral helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The uncoated carbide construction provides excellent rigidity and edge sharpness in a compact, single-end configuration. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance machining applications.
The 750023 is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a standard uncoated carbide end mill is appropriate. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole, making it versatile for pocketing operations. The 0.25 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets, end mill holders, and set-screw-style tool holders commonly found in vertical machining centers and knee mills. This is a single-end tool, meaning it is not reversible once the cutting end is worn.
Designed as a standard 0.25 inch shank square end mill compatible with ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and set-screw holders accepting a 0.25 inch shank diameter. Verify tool holder runout and collet condition before use to maintain edge life and dimensional accuracy.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state per shop lockout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges under magnification before mounting to confirm no chipping or damage is present. Follow ANSI B11 machine tool safety standards and applicable shop-floor PPE requirements during operation.
