The HERTEL 750016 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length with a 1 inch shank diameter. The three-flute geometry and 30-degree helix angle work together to balance chip evacuation with surface finish quality. Micrograin carbide construction delivers hardness and edge retention well beyond high-speed steel alternatives. This tool is center-cutting, allowing plunge entry, and is ground for right-hand cut rotation. It ships uncoated and is ready for use in a wide range of standard milling applications.
This end mill is suited for slot milling, profiling, and pocket milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The regular-length classification and 1 inch shank make it compatible with standard toolholders in vertical mills, machining centers, and CNC milling machines. It is appropriate for job shops, production machining environments, and tool rooms where a reliable uncoated carbide end mill is required for general-purpose work. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the typical end users for this tool class.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for 1 inch shank toolholders used in standard vertical mills and CNC machining centers requiring a regular-length square end mill.
This end mill is installed by a machinist or CNC operator using an appropriate collet chuck, end mill holder, or Weldon-style toolholder rated for the 1 inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is properly torqued to the toolholder manufacturer specification before operation. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation to maintain dimensional accuracy and tool life. Follow shop safety procedures and applicable OSHA machining guidelines when setting up cutting tools.
