The HERTEL 74460007 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding machining applications. Ground to a 118-degree standard point angle with web thinning applied, this bit delivers clean entry and reduced thrust in ferrous and non-ferrous materials alike. The bright (uncoated) finish keeps the carbide substrate exposed for maximum heat dissipation in short-run operations. At 3.25 inches overall length with a 2-inch flute length, it fits standard drill chucks and CNC toolholders without adapter modifications. Material grade C2 solid carbide provides the rigidity needed to hold tight tolerances in production environments.
This drill bit is suited for machine shops, tool-and-die operations, and CNC machining centers where close-tolerance drilling is required. The 6 mm diameter (0.2362 inches) and straight-cylindrical shank make it a direct fit for collet chucks, drill chucks, and shrink-fit holders across vertical machining centers, drill presses, and lathes. It is appropriate for general-purpose use across a range of workpiece materials where a standard 118-degree geometry is specified. Machinists and CNC operators handling production runs or precision repair work are the primary installers.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit for use in drill chucks, collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 0.2362-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Fits drill bit size range of 0.2000 to 0.2500 inches (6.00 to 7.00 mm class toolholders).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable limits before seating the shank, as excess runout will accelerate carbide edge wear. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; use flood or mist coolant at the cutting zone when drilling deep holes or hard materials.
