The 11/32 inch (0.3438 inch decimal) diameter bit features a 135-degree split point for reduced thrust and self-centering on entry, a web-thinned parallel web for improved chip evacuation, and a slow spiral flute geometry optimized for the tough, stringy chips common in stainless steel and nickel alloy work. Licensed machinists and tooling professionals typically reach for this style of bit when a standard jobber length would deflect or chatter.
This drill bit is suited for production and maintenance machining environments where short, rigid tooling is required for accurate hole location without a center drill. The slow spiral flute design is matched specifically to primary workpiece materials including cast iron, nickel alloy, stainless steel, titanium alloy, and tool steel.
