The HERTEL 74147679 is a reduced shank cobalt drill bit designed for drilling into tough, high tensile strength materials where standard high-speed steel bits fall short. The bit measures 57/64 inch (0.8906 inch decimal) in cutting diameter with a reduced 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank, allowing it to chuck into standard 1/2 inch capacity drill presses and hand drills. Overall length is 6 inches with a 3 inch spiral flute length. The 118 degree standard point angle suits general-purpose drilling across a wide range of ferrous and hard alloy workpieces. An oxide straw finish provides added surface protection and reduces friction during cutting. Right-hand cut geometry is standard.
