The HERTEL 74129412 is a reduced shank cobalt drill bit designed for drilling into tough, high tensile strength materials where standard high-speed steel bits fall short. The 1 inch cutting diameter is paired with a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank, allowing this large-diameter bit to run in standard 1/2 inch chucks without requiring a larger machine spindle. The 118-degree standard point angle provides a self-centering start on most metals. An oxide straw finish reduces friction and helps resist heat buildup during extended cuts. Machinists, tool-and-die shops, and trade professionals working with hard steel, stainless, or alloy materials will find this bit well-suited for production and maintenance drilling applications.
