The HERTEL 74129305 is a solid carbide straight-flute die drill bit designed for precision drilling in hard and demanding workpiece materials. Built from C2-grade carbide with a bright finish, this bit features a 140-degree notched point and a web-thinned geometry that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation at entry. The diameter measures 23/64 inches (0.3594 inches decimal), with a matching shank diameter of 0.3594 inches. Diameter tolerance is held to +0.0000 to -0.0005 inches for close-tolerance hole applications. The two-flute, right-hand cutting configuration suits high-accuracy drilling in tool and die, mold, and precision machining environments.
This die drill bit is suited for production and maintenance drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous hard materials. Primary and secondary workpiece materials include chrome alloy, heat-treated alloy, nickel alloy, stainless steel, steel, and titanium alloy. Typical applications include die and mold work, aerospace component drilling, and precision fabrication where hole quality and dimensional accuracy are critical. Straight-flute geometry makes it particularly effective in cross-hole and interrupted-cut situations where standard spiral flutes may chatter or deflect.
Designed for use in hard workpiece materials including chrome alloy, heat-treated alloy, nickel alloy, stainless steel, steel, and titanium alloy. Straight-flute die drill geometry is appropriate for cross-hole drilling, deep cavities, and interrupted cuts where flute rigidity matters.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom professional. Secure the shank firmly in a compatible drill chuck or collet sized for a 0.3594-inch shank before operation. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits to preserve the tight diameter tolerance of this bit. Do not exceed the drill press or machining center speed and feed recommendations for carbide tooling in the specific workpiece material being drilled.
