The HERTEL 74129172 is a straight-flute solid carbide drill bit designed for precision drilling in hard and difficult-to-machine metals. Built from C2-grade carbide with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers consistent performance where high wear resistance is required. The 140-degree notched point and web-thinned geometry reduce thrust and improve self-centering at the start of the cut. At 5/32 inches (0.1563 inches decimal) in diameter, it holds a tight tolerance of +0.0000 to -0.0005 inches. Two right-hand flutes provide efficient chip evacuation in short-chipping ferrous and exotic alloy materials. This bit is a production-grade tool suited for machine shop and field fabrication environments.

This tool is installed and operated by machinists, toolmakers, and industrial drilling technicians. Before mounting, confirm the chuck or collet is clean and rated for the shank diameter to prevent runout. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant at the workpiece when drilling stainless or titanium alloys to manage heat buildup, even though this bit does not have through-coolant capability. Inspect the cutting edges and point geometry before each use and remove from service at the first sign of chipping or dulling to maintain hole-quality standards.
