The HERTEL 74129149 is a straight-flute solid carbide drill bit designed for precision drilling in hard and difficult-to-machine materials. Built from C2-grade carbide with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit features a 140-degree notched point and web-thinned geometry that reduces entry thrust and improves chip clearance at the cutting edge. The 7/64-inch diameter measures 0.1094 inches in decimal, with a tight diameter tolerance of +0.0000 to -0.0005 inches for consistent hole sizing. Two right-hand flutes and a matching 7/64-inch shank make this bit suitable for use in standard drill chucks and precision machine setups. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals are the primary users of this bit.
This drill bit is engineered for use in chrome alloy, heat-treated alloy, nickel alloy, stainless steel, steel, and titanium alloy workpieces. This bit is intended for use by machinists and trained tool operators on drill presses, CNC machining centers, or handheld power drills with appropriate chuck capacity. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling and set spindle speed according to the workpiece material and manufacturer guidelines for carbide tooling. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit, so external coolant or cutting fluid is recommended when drilling hard alloys to manage heat buildup. Inspect the cutting edge before each use, as carbide is brittle and susceptible to chipping if dropped or subjected to side loading.
