The HERTEL 72300601 is a cobalt steel chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machining applications. With a 15/16 inch (0.9375 inch decimal) diameter and a 10 inch overall length, this reamer delivers accurate, tight-tolerance bores in a wide range of workpiece materials. The straight flute geometry and bright uncoated finish make it well suited for moderate-speed reaming where chip clearance and surface finish consistency are priorities. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators use this type of reamer as a final-pass cutting tool to bring drilled or bored holes to final specification. The cobalt steel construction provides enhanced heat and wear resistance compared to standard high-speed steel.
This chucking reamer is intended for use in drill presses, lathes, CNC machining centers, and manual mills where a straight-cylindrical shank can be gripped securely in a drill chuck or collet. The 2-5/8 inch flute length accommodates typical through-hole and shallow blind-hole reaming operations in production and toolroom environments. It is a right-hand cutting tool, consistent with standard spindle rotation in most machine configurations. Both production shops and job shops will find this tool appropriate for finishing ferrous and non-ferrous materials where cobalt steel offers adequate tool life.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer compatible with drill presses, lathes, and machining centers equipped with drill chucks or collets sized to accept a straight-cylindrical shank in the 15/16 inch diameter class.
This tool should be installed by a qualified machinist familiar with reamer setup and cutting parameter selection. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the reamer from the chuck or collet. Secure the shank fully within the holding device to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Always apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material and verify spindle speed is set within the recommended range for cobalt steel reamers before operation.
