The HERTEL 72036577 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers consistent bore sizing at a 0.6570-inch diameter. The straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard drill chucks or collet holders, and the 8-flute geometry provides smooth, accurate material removal on the finish pass. With a 9-inch overall length and a 2.25-inch flute length, this reamer is sized for through-hole and blind-hole work in production and maintenance machining environments. Right-hand cutting direction is standard. Machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance trades use this tool where tight bore tolerances are required.
This chucking reamer is suited for ferrous and non-ferrous materials in general machine shop, MRO, and production environments. The straight-cylindrical shank makes it compatible with standard drill press chucks, CNC machining center chucks, and manual lathe tailstock chucks. It is a single-piece, standard-size reamer — not an over/under-size variant and not a dowel pin reamer — making it a direct fit for applications requiring nominal 0.6570-inch finished bore dimensions.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill presses, manual lathes, and CNC machining centers equipped with chucks or collet systems that accept a straight-cylindrical shank at the 0.6570-inch nominal diameter range.
A licensed or trained machinist should verify spindle speed and feed rate for the specific material being reamed before use. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and confirm runout with a dial indicator where tolerance is critical. Always apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Power down and lock out the machine before changing or inspecting the reamer.
