The HERTEL 72021850 is a straight-flute chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled or bored holes to a precise 0.2185-inch diameter. Machined from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer delivers accurate hole sizing in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in a drill chuck or collet, and the right-hand cutting direction suits standard spindle rotation. With an overall length of 5 inches and a 1-1/4-inch flute length, the tool is sized for close-tolerance finishing work on manual and CNC machine tools in production and job-shop environments.
This reamer is suited for machine shop, toolroom, and maintenance operations where hole diameter tolerance and surface finish are critical. It handles through-hole and blind-hole applications within its 0.2000- to 0.2499-inch diameter range class. Machinists, toolmakers, and maintenance mechanics typically deploy this tool in drill presses, lathes, milling machines, and machining centers when reaming to a final fit diameter. The 6-flute geometry provides smooth cutting action and good chip distribution at moderate feeds and speeds.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in any drill press, lathe, milling machine, or machining center equipped with a chuck or collet capable of gripping a straight-cylindrical shank in the 0.2185-inch diameter class.
A licensed machinist or qualified maintenance mechanic should install and operate this reamer. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the tool. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck or collet before initiating a cut, and apply cutting fluid appropriate to the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve finish quality. Do not use this reamer for stock removal beyond what is needed for finish sizing.
