The HERTEL 72013154 is a high-speed steel (HSS) chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machine tool applications. With a reamer diameter of 0.1315 inches and a straight-cylindrical shank, it mounts directly into drill chucks, collets, or machine spindles for reliable, repeatable sizing. The 4-flute straight flute geometry delivers a smooth cutting action and a clean bore finish in a right-hand cutting direction. At 3.5 inches overall length with a 7/8-inch flute length, this reamer suits short-reach drilling and reaming operations on drill presses, lathes, and CNC machining centers. The bright uncoated finish makes it well suited for use in softer steels, aluminum, brass, and similar workpiece materials. Machinists and toolroom technicians use this reamer to bring drilled holes to tight dimensional tolerance.
This reamer is intended for finish-reaming operations where hole diameter accuracy and surface finish are critical. The 0.1315-inch diameter falls within the 0.1000 to 0.1499 inch decimal inch range, making it appropriate for small-bore work in production machining, toolroom setups, and maintenance repair operations. Typical applications include bearing fits, dowel pin holes, and precision-clearance bores where a drilled hole alone does not meet tolerance requirements. It is sold and packaged individually.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill presses, lathes, milling machines, and CNC machining centers equipped with drill chucks or collet systems accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the corresponding diameter range.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank fully into the chuck or collet before running the spindle. Always pre-drill the hole to the appropriate diameter before reaming, and apply cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Never reverse the cutting direction while the reamer is engaged in the workpiece.
