The HERTEL 72010507 is a 4-flute high-speed steel (HSS) chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal and general machining applications. With a 0.1050-inch cutting diameter and a straight-cylindrical shank, it chucks directly into a drill press, CNC machining center, or lathe tailstock without adapters. The bright, uncoated HSS construction handles a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. At 3.5 inches overall length with a 0.875-inch flute length, this reamer is sized for shallow through-holes and blind bores in the 0.1000 to 0.1499-inch diameter range. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional clockwise-spindle operation.
This chucking reamer suits toolrooms, production machining, and maintenance shops requiring tight-tolerance hole sizing in the small-diameter range. It is appropriate for applications where drilled holes need to be brought to a precise finished diameter with consistent surface finish. Typical use cases include bearing seat preparation, pin hole finishing, and precision fit work in light manufacturing and repair environments where a straight-flute reamer provides stable, chatter-resistant cutting in short-flute configurations.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, lathes, and other machine tools equipped with drill chucks or straight-shank collet holders accepting the straight-cylindrical shank profile.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet holder, verifying runout before cutting. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before loading or removing the reamer. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve bore finish; never force a reamer through an undersized pilot hole.
