The HERTEL 72010358 is a high-speed steel (HSS) chucking reamer designed to finish-size drilled or bored holes to a precise 0.1035-inch diameter. With four straight flutes and a bright, uncoated finish, this reamer produces a clean, accurate bore in a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in a drill chuck or collet on a drill press, lathe, or CNC machining center. At 3.5 inches overall length with a 0.875-inch flute length, it is suited for shallow-to-moderate depth finish reaming where tight hole tolerances are required.
This reamer is used in machine shop, toolroom, and general metalworking applications where a drilled hole must be brought to a finished, close-tolerance diameter. Typical installations include fixture work, jig boring, and component assembly preparation. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard machine spindle rotation. It is appropriate for production and maintenance environments where consistent hole quality is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style machine reamer for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the applicable diameter range.
Chucking reamers are installed by machinists and toolroom technicians. Power down the machine and confirm the spindle is fully stopped before mounting or removing the reamer from the chuck or collet. Always pre-drill or bore the hole undersize before reaming — do not use a reamer as a primary material-removal tool. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve finish quality.
