The HERTEL 72006000 is a high-speed steel chucking reamer designed to bring drilled or bored holes to precise final diameter. With a 0.0600-inch cutting diameter, a straight-cylindrical shank, and a bright uncoated HSS construction, this reamer delivers accurate, repeatable hole finishing in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 4-flute, right-hand cutting geometry produces a clean, smooth bore. The straight flute design is well suited to through-hole and shallow blind-hole applications. Overall length is 2.5 inches, with a 0.5-inch flute length. It is intended for use in a drill press, CNC machining center, or manual chuck setup by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This chucking reamer is sized for small-diameter precision hole finishing in production and maintenance machining environments. The 0.0600-inch diameter falls within the 0.0500-to-0.0999-inch decimal inch range and is commonly used when tight bore tolerances are required after drilling. Typical applications include instrument components, jig and fixture work, and small mechanical assemblies where hole size and surface finish are critical. The straight-cylindrical shank allows direct mounting in a standard drill chuck or collet without an adapter.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and manual chuck setups requiring a 0.0600-inch finished bore diameter with a straight-cylindrical shank interface.
Chucking reamers are installed by machinists in a drill chuck or collet after a pilot hole has been drilled undersize per standard reaming allowance practices. Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped and the reamer is running true before engaging the cut. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the work material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Always de-energize the machine and confirm the spindle has stopped before changing or inspecting tooling.
