The HERTEL 72005606 is a high-speed steel (HSS) chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machine shop and production environments. With a reamer diameter of 0.0560 inches and a straight-cylindrical shank, it mounts directly in a drill press, lathe, or CNC machining center chuck for accurate, repeatable sizing. The 4-flute straight flute geometry and bright uncoated finish make it well suited for finishing small-diameter bores in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Overall length is 2.5 inches with a flute length of 0.5 inches. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and production machine operators are the typical users of this tool.
This reamer is used in light-duty precision reaming applications where a small-diameter finished bore is required. The 0.0560-inch diameter places it in the 0.0500 to 0.0999-inch decimal inch reamer diameter range, making it appropriate for fine-tolerance work in watchmaking, instrument manufacturing, aerospace component finishing, and general precision machining. The straight-cylindrical shank provides secure clamping in standard chucks without the need for a collet adapter. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional machine spindle rotation.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill presses, lathes, and CNC machining centers equipped with chucks or collets sized to accept a straight-cylindrical shank in the 0.0500 to 0.0999-inch diameter range.
Installation and use of this tool should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck and verify runout before cutting. Always set spindle speed appropriate to the workpiece material and reamer diameter per standard machining feeds-and-speeds references. Do not force the reamer through an undersized bore; ensure the pre-drilled hole is within the recommended allowance for the finished reamer diameter.
