The HERTEL 7000469 is a right-hand indexable boring bar designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. Built to toolholder style A06STLPR2 and constructed from steel, this bar accepts TP.. 21.51 series inserts secured by a screw-holding method. It delivers a minimum bore diameter of 0.48 inches, a maximum bore depth of 1.125 inches, and a 3/8 inch shank diameter. Through-coolant capability via a 0.125 inch coolant hole supports chip evacuation and tool life in continuous cutting applications. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals handling tight-tolerance bore work will find this bar suited to production and repair environments alike.
This boring bar is intended for shop-floor boring applications on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces where a minimum bore diameter of 0.48 inches is required. The 6 inch overall length provides reach for deeper setups while keeping the 3/8 inch shank compatible with standard tool blocks and quick-change holders. With a back-of-bar to cutting edge measurement of 0.25 inches, tool offset setup is straightforward. The through-coolant feature makes it suitable for production machining where heat and chip buildup must be managed at the cutting zone.
Designed for use with TP.. 21.51 series indexable inserts. Compatible with tool blocks and holders accepting a 3/8 inch round shank. Verify insert grade and geometry selection against workpiece material and cutting parameters before use.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with indexable tooling systems. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the boring bar from the tool holder. Ensure the shank is seated fully and clamped securely per the machine tool manufacturer torque guidance for the holder style in use. Confirm through-coolant supply lines are clear and pressurized to the machine specification before initiating a cut.
