The HERTEL 7000418 is a right-hand indexable boring bar designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the A12SCLPR3AP5 toolholder style, it accepts CP.. 21.51 series inserts secured by a screw-holding method for repeatable edge positioning. The bar features a 3/4-inch shank diameter and an overall length of 10 inches, with a minimum bore diameter of 0.93 inches and a maximum bore depth of 2.25 inches. Through-coolant capability, with a 1/8-27 NPT coolant inlet, directs fluid directly to the cutting zone for improved chip evacuation and tool life. The steel construction provides rigidity under interrupted cuts and high feed rates.
This boring bar is suited for production and job-shop environments where repeatable bore dimensions are required in steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials. It is installed in standard 3/4-inch boring bar holders or turret pockets on CNC turning equipment. The through-coolant feature makes it well matched to deeper bore applications and materials that generate significant heat at the cutting edge. The minimum bore diameter using a diamond insert cartridge drops to 0.375 inches, extending its application range for smaller bore entries.
Designed for use with CP.. 21.51 series indexable inserts. Compatible with 3/4-inch boring bar pockets or holders on CNC lathes and turning centers using the A12SCLPR3AP5 insert system.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is in the safe index position before mounting or removing the bar. Secure the shank to the specified clamping torque per the machine tool manufacturer's recommendations. Connect the coolant supply line to the 1/8-27 NPT inlet and verify there are no leaks before beginning the cut cycle.
