The HERTEL 7000039 is a right-hand A-SCLP indexable boring bar designed for internal turning and boring operations on metal workpieces. Built from steel with a 5/8 inch shank diameter and 10 inch overall length, this bar accepts CP.. 32.52 style inserts secured by screw clamping. The minimum bore diameter is 0.77 inches, making it suitable for tight-bore applications where precision and rigidity are critical. A through-coolant design with a 1/8-27 NPT coolant hole thread delivers cutting fluid directly to the insert tip, extending tool life and improving chip evacuation in deep-bore operations. The neutral rake geometry with a 0 degree rake angle and negative 5 degree lead angle provides stable, predictable cutting performance across a range of steel and ferrous materials.
This boring bar is intended for use on CNC lathes, turning centers, and manual engine lathes in job shop, production machining, and maintenance environments. It is suited for internal diameter finishing and semi-finishing passes where consistent bore geometry and surface finish are required. The screw-clamping insert holding method allows for quick insert indexing without disturbing the bar setup, reducing downtime between cutting passes. Machinists working with small-bore components in steel or similar ferrous alloys will find this tool well-matched to standard production turning cycles.
Designed for use with CP.. 32.52 style indexable inserts with a 3/8 inch inscribed circle and 5/32 inch insert thickness. Fits standard 5/8 inch bore toolholders and boring bar blocks on CNC and manual turning equipment.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for boring bar setup and overhang limits. Secure the shank fully in the toolholder block and minimize bar overhang to reduce vibration and deflection during cuts. Shut down the machine spindle and isolate machine power before changing inserts or adjusting the bar position. Verify coolant line connections to the 1/8-27 NPT port are leak-free before initiating through-coolant flow.
