The HERTEL 7000037 is a right-hand A-SCLP indexable boring bar designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on machining centers and lathes. Built from steel with a 3/8-inch shank diameter and 6-inch overall length, it accepts CP.. 21.51 inserts held by screw-clamp method. The 0.48-inch minimum bore diameter, neutral rake with a 0-degree rake angle, and -5-degree lead angle make it well-suited for tight-tolerance bore finishing and semi-finishing work. Through-coolant capability via a 1/16-27 NPT coolant hole keeps cutting temperatures controlled during continuous operations.
This boring bar is used in CNC turning and mill-turn applications requiring small-diameter internal machining. The through-coolant design supports higher cutting speeds and extends insert life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It is a single-use toolholder configuration, not a multi-use tool, which keeps setup and indexing straightforward. Machinists and tool-room technicians working in production or job-shop environments will find this bar appropriate for bore diameters starting at 0.48 inches where rigidity and coolant delivery are critical.
Designed to accept CP.. 21.51 A-SCLP style inserts with a 1/4-inch inscribed circle. Also referenced under MSC/Manufacturer Number A06SCLPR/L2.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine in a locked-out, tagged-out state per applicable safety procedures. Ensure the shank is properly clamped in a compatible boring bar holder and that coolant lines are connected and free of obstruction before running. Follow the insert manufacturer's recommended cutting parameters for feed, speed, and depth of cut when using CP.. 21.51 inserts. Do not exceed the minimum bore diameter rating, as doing so risks deflection and premature insert or tool failure.
