The HERTEL 7000012 is a right-hand A-MCLN indexable boring bar engineered for precision internal turning operations in steel and ferrous materials. Built with a 1-3/4 inch shank diameter and a 14 inch overall length, it accepts CN.. insert geometry at a negative rake angle of 5 degrees and a lead angle of -5 degrees. The through-coolant design delivers cutting fluid directly to the insert tip via a 1/4-18 NPT coolant hole, extending tool life and improving chip evacuation in deep-bore applications. Inserts are secured by screw or clamp, supporting fast indexing without disturbing setup. This bar is sized for a minimum bore diameter of 2.01 inches and is suited to production and jobshop turning environments.
This boring bar is intended for CNC and manual lathe applications where consistent bore geometry and surface finish are required. The 2.01 inch minimum bore capacity makes it appropriate for medium to large workpieces typical in industrial machining, repair shops, and manufacturing facilities. The through-coolant capability is especially useful in deep-bore or high-speed passes where heat buildup is a concern. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with CN.. inserts will find this holder a direct fit for standard A-MCLN tooling systems.
Compatible with CN.. inserts featuring a 1/2 inch inscribed circle and 3/16 inch insert thickness in the A-MCLN insert style. Also referenced under manufacturer number A28UMCLNR/L4.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and spindle locked before mounting or removing the boring bar. Verify shank-to-holder clamping torque against your toolholder manufacturer specifications before cutting. Connect the coolant supply line to the 1/4-18 NPT port and confirm flow before initiating a cut. Follow your facility safety procedures and applicable OSHA machine guarding standards when setting up or indexing inserts.
