The HERTEL 67783225 is a cobalt threaded-shank drill bit designed for drilling into high-tensile strength materials where standard high-speed steel bits wear prematurely. It carries a No. 13 wire size designation, equal to 0.1850 inches in diameter, and features a 135-degree split point that self-centers on contact and reduces the thrust required to start a hole. The oxide coating adds surface hardness and helps resist heat buildup during aggressive cuts. Overall length is 2.125 inches with a 1.125-inch flute length, making it suitable for tight-clearance drilling applications. A 1/4-28 threaded shank ensures positive retention in compatible quick-change or threaded-chuck tooling systems.
This bit is built for trade and production environments where hard or work-hardening materials such as stainless steel, Inconel, titanium alloys, and other high-tensile metals are regularly encountered. The regular spiral flute and right-hand cutting direction are standard configurations for general-purpose through-hole drilling. The web-thinned, tapered web design reduces cutting resistance at the center of the bit, which is especially useful when drilling by hand or with lower-torque pneumatic tools common in sheet-metal and aerospace fastener work. It conforms to NAS 965 specification, which is a common requirement in aerospace and defense fabrication environments.

Inspect the cutting edges and split point before each use and replace the bit if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
