The HERTEL 66694019 is a No. 2 wire-size jobber-length drill bit machined from high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating. It carries a 135-degree split point geometry and a web-thinned, tapered web design that reduces entry force and improves chip evacuation at the start of the cut. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.2210 inches in diameter and seats securely in standard drill chucks. Overall length is 3-7/8 inches with a 2-5/8-inch flute length. The two-flute spiral configuration handles a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials in general holemaking applications. This is a heavy-duty grade bit conforming to NAS specification.
This drill bit is suited for holemaking work in metal fabrication, maintenance and repair, and light industrial applications where a No. 2 wire-size hole (0.2210 inches decimal equivalent) is required. The TiN coating extends tool life compared to uncoated HSS by reducing friction and heat buildup at the cutting edge. It is appropriate for use in drill presses, hand drills, and milling setups where a straight-cylindrical shank is accepted. The regular spiral type and jobber-series length make it a versatile shop drill for general through-hole and blind-hole work in production and field environments.
Designed as a standard jobber-length drill bit for use in any drill press, hand drill, or machining center that accepts a 0.2210-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for general holemaking applications requiring a No. 2 wire-size bit.
Install in a clean, properly sized drill chuck and tighten securely before operation. Secure the workpiece with appropriate fixturing to prevent movement during drilling. Use cutting fluid or coolant appropriate to the material being drilled to maximize tool life, noting that this bit does not support through-coolant. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
