The HERTEL 66693904 is a letter Q jobber-length drill bit ground from high speed steel and coated with titanium nitride (TiN) for extended tool life. It cuts a 0.3320 inch diameter hole with a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and lowers thrust force at the start of the cut. The two-flute spiral design with a web-thinned, tapered web configuration promotes chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup during drilling. At 4.75 inches overall length with a 3.4375 inch flute length, it fits standard drill chucks and machining centers. Rated heavy duty under NAS specification, this bit is suited for production and maintenance drilling across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This drill bit is used in holemaking applications in manufacturing, maintenance, and mechanical trade environments. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.3320 inch diameter seats securely in keyed or keyless chucks on handheld drills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional rotary drilling. No coolant-through capability is present, so external cutting fluid or air blast is the appropriate cooling method for high-cycle operations. Typical users include machinists, millwrights, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors working with metal fabrication and field repair tasks.
Designed as a standard jobber-length replacement drill bit for use in any drill chuck or machine spindle accepting a 0.3320 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Install in a properly rated drill press, hand drill, or machining center chuck and tighten securely before use. Ensure the workpiece is clamped or fixtured to prevent movement during drilling. Apply an appropriate cutting fluid for ferrous materials to reduce heat and prolong edge life when running extended cycles. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or excessive wear is present.
