The HERTEL 66692914 is a high speed steel jobber-length drill bit in wire gauge size 5, with a decimal diameter of 0.2055 inches. It features a 135-degree split point for reduced walking and faster penetration on entry, and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that extends tool life in ferrous and abrasive materials. The flute is spiral with a regular helix and a tapered web configuration with web thinning, which lowers thrust and improves chip evacuation. At 3.75 inches overall length with a 2.5-inch flute, this is a standard jobber series geometry suited for general-purpose production drilling in metal fabrication, maintenance, and repair environments. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard three-jaw drill chucks. It is rated as heavy duty grade under NAS specification.
This drill bit is intended for right-hand rotation holemaking in steel, stainless, cast iron, and other ferrous alloys where TiAlN coatings provide thermal resistance at higher surface speeds. It is a single-end, two-flute tool designed for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power drills. The jobber-length series balances reach and rigidity for everyday hole production across fabrication shops, mechanical contractors, and industrial maintenance applications. The wire size 5 designation falls within the 0.2000 to 0.2500 inch size range and is specified for applications requiring close decimal-inch tolerances. Coolant-through is not available on this tool.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber drill for use in any three-jaw chuck, keyless chuck, or collet system accepting a 0.2055-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for drill presses, CNC machines, and portable power drills rated for the corresponding shank diameter.
Installation and use of this drill bit is performed by machinists, fabricators, and mechanical tradespeople. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck before operation and verify runout before beginning a production run. Always power down and de-energize the spindle before changing tooling. Follow applicable workplace safety standards and machine manufacturer specifications for feed rate and surface speed when drilling with TiAlN-coated HSS tooling.
