The HERTEL 62913892 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and coated with TiAlN, it handles high-heat cutting environments where standard HSS tooling falls short. The cutter measures 7/8 inch (0.8750 inches) in diameter with a matching 7/8 inch shank, a 1-7/8 inch (1.8750 inches) length of cut, and a 4-1/8 inch (4.1250 inches) overall length. Its 5-flute fine-pitch geometry breaks chips aggressively and reduces chatter on roughing passes. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute direction are standard. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This roughing end mill is suited for heavy stock removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC milling machines. The TiAlN coating improves oxidation resistance and extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The fine-pitch 5-flute design is well matched to medium-to-heavy depth-of-cut passes in steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel. It is not center-cutting, so it is intended for side milling and peripheral roughing passes rather than plunge entry. Extended reach is not applicable for this tool, keeping deflection low during roughing cycles.
Designed as a standard roughing end mill with a 7/8 inch straight shank, compatible with milling machine collets, end mill holders, and toolholders accepting 7/8 inch shank tooling.
This tool is installed by machinists using standard end mill holders or collet chucks rated for the 7/8 inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the tool. Power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Because this end mill is not center-cutting, avoid plunge entries; use a ramping or pre-drilled entry path instead.
