The HERTEL 62748173 is a high speed steel (HSS) jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose holemaking in metal, wood, and composite materials. It carries a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating that increases surface hardness and reduces friction at the cutting edge, extending tool life in production and repetitive drilling applications. The 135-degree split point geometry allows the bit to self-center on contact, eliminating the need for a center punch on most surfaces. At 3.625 inches overall length with a 2.4375-inch flute length, this bit fits standard drill chucks and is sized for everyday shop and field use by machinists, pipefitters, ironworkers, and maintenance technicians.
