The HERTEL 59904706 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machine shop and production environments. With a 3/8 inch (0.3750 inch decimal) cutting diameter, a 1-1/4 inch flute length, and a 3-1/2 inch overall length, this reamer is built for tight-tolerance applications where hole size, roundness, and surface finish are critical. The six-flute spiral configuration promotes smooth chip evacuation and consistent cutting action. The straight cylindrical shank mounts directly in standard drill chucks, collet chucks, or floating holders. Machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators are the typical end users.
This chucking reamer is suited for finish reaming through-holes and blind holes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials at the 3/8 inch diameter class. It is used in job shops, production machining cells, and maintenance repair operations where repeatable hole quality is required. The solid carbide construction supports use at higher cutting speeds than high-speed steel equivalents and performs well in harder workpiece materials. Right-hand spiral flutes with right-hand cutting direction make this a conventional-rotation reamer compatible with standard CNC and manual machines.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use chucking reamer for applications requiring a 3/8 inch diameter finish reamer with a straight cylindrical shank in standard machine tool holders.
A licensed machinist or qualified CNC operator should install and operate this tool following shop-standard procedures for reamer setup and workholding. Ensure the spindle and all workholding devices are fully stopped and de-energized before loading or unloading the tool. Verify shank runout within acceptable limits before cutting to protect the carbide from chipping due to misalignment. Do not use this reamer as a drill — reamers require a pre-drilled or bored undersize hole before entry.
