With a 9/32 inch (0.2812 inch) cutting diameter, 3-1/4 inch overall length, and 1-1/8 inch flute length, this reamer delivers consistent bore sizing and fine surface finishes in through and blind holes. The tool features 6 spiral flutes with a right-hand cutting direction, promoting efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The straight-cylindrical shank provides secure tool holding in standard drill chucks or collet holders. Chucking reamers are installed by machinists in a drill chuck, collet, or floating holder before the machine is powered on and the spindle is confirmed stationary. The workpiece and fixture must be securely clamped prior to reaming. Always run the reamer at the correct speed and feed for the material being cut — solid carbide reamers are sensitive to side loading and should not be used to remove excess stock; pre-drill or bore to within 0.005 to 0.015 inch of final diameter before reaming. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to maximize tool life and surface finish.
