The HERTEL 45676145 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed to finish-ream precision holes to a tight tolerance diameter of 0.329 inches. Solid carbide construction provides superior rigidity and wear resistance compared to high-speed steel, making it well-suited for reaming hard or abrasive materials where dimensional accuracy is critical. The 6-flute, right-hand cutting geometry distributes cutting load evenly, improving surface finish and extending tool life. With a straight shank and an overall length of 3.5 inches, this reamer mounts directly in standard drill chucks, collet holders, or floating reamer holders. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this tool in CNC and manual machining operations.
This chucking reamer is used in precision hole-finishing operations across general machining, die-making, and light manufacturing environments. The 1.25-inch flute length accommodates typical through-hole and blind-hole applications within that depth range. A bright polished finish reduces friction and chip buildup at the cutting edge, which is especially useful when working with non-ferrous metals, cast iron, and certain steel alloys. It is sold individually and is appropriate for shop-floor use wherever repeatable, close-tolerance hole sizing is required.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chucking reamer suitable for use in standard machine tool spindles accepting straight-shank tooling within the 0.300 to 0.3499-inch diameter range.
This reamer should be installed by a qualified machinist in a clean, properly aligned spindle or collet holder to ensure concentricity and prevent tool deflection. Power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to prolong edge life and maintain surface finish quality. Do not use this reamer to remove excessive stock — pre-drill or bore the hole to within a few thousandths of final diameter before reaming.
