The HERTEL 45675824 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. With a reamer diameter of 0.287 inches and a straight cylindrical shank, this tool mounts directly in a drill chuck or collet for accurate, repeatable sizing. The bright, uncoated solid carbide construction delivers hardness and wear resistance suited for demanding production environments. Six straight flutes with a right-hand cutting direction provide clean material removal and consistent surface finish. Machinists and tool room technicians working with close-tolerance bores rely on this style of reamer to bring drilled or bored holes to final dimension.
This chucking reamer is intended for use in CNC machining centers, manual lathes, drill presses, and similar machine tool setups where a floating or rigid holder positions the tool axially. It is well suited for finishing holes in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other machinable materials where tight diameter tolerance and surface finish are required. The 1.125-inch flute length accommodates typical through-hole and blind-hole depths in the sub-0.30-inch diameter range common in precision component and fixture work.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in any machine tool setup accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the applicable diameter range, including CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool room technician. Secure the straight shank firmly in a drill chuck, collet, or floating reamer holder before beginning the operation, and verify runout meets the tolerance requirements of the finished bore. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve surface finish. Never force the reamer through an undersized pilot hole; ensure the pre-drilled or bored hole leaves only the recommended stock allowance for reaming.
