The HERTEL 45675808 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal and composite materials. With a 0.284 inch diameter and a 1.125 inch straight flute length, it delivers tight dimensional tolerances in drilled or bored holes. The straight shank mounts directly in standard drill chucks or collet holders. Six right-hand flutes distribute cutting load evenly and promote clean chip evacuation. The bright polished finish reduces friction and helps maintain sharpness over extended production runs. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this reamer where hole size accuracy and surface finish are critical requirements.
This reamer is suited for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill presses where a straight-shank tool is acceptable. It targets applications in the 0.250 to 0.299 inch diameter range and is appropriate for reaming through-holes and blind holes in ferrous metals, aluminum, and similar materials. Its 3.25 inch overall length accommodates standard toolholding setups without requiring extended-reach adapters in most bench and vertical mill configurations.
Designed as a standard straight-shank chucking reamer for use in drill chucks, ER collets, and similar toolholding systems on CNC and manual machining equipment accepting straight-shank tools in the 0.284 inch diameter class.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with reaming speeds, feeds, and cutting fluid requirements for the workpiece material. Secure the shank fully in the toolholder and verify runout before cutting. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the material being reamed to extend tool life and achieve target surface finish. Do not use this tool to remove stock beyond typical reaming allowances, as solid carbide is brittle and susceptible to chipping under excessive lateral load.
