The HERTEL 45675782 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining operations. With a reamer diameter of 0.282 inches and an overall length of 3.25 inches, it is built for tight-tolerance bore sizing in production and toolroom environments. The six straight flutes and bright polished finish support smooth chip evacuation and reduced cutting friction. Right-hand cutting direction and a straight shank make it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems. Machinists and toolroom technicians rely on this type of reamer to bring drilled or bored holes to final diameter with consistent accuracy.
This chucking reamer is suited for use on CNC machining centers, turret lathes, and drill presses where precision bore finishing is required. The 0.282-inch diameter falls within the 0.2500 to 0.2999 inch reamer diameter range, making it applicable to close-tolerance work in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar machinable materials. The solid carbide construction provides the rigidity and wear resistance needed for high-speed or high-volume applications where high-speed steel tooling may wear prematurely.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in drill chucks, end mill holders, or collet chucks accepting a straight shank in the 0.282-inch diameter class.
Chucking reamers are installed by qualified machinists using a compatible chuck or collet system sized to the straight shank diameter. Ensure the spindle and workpiece are properly secured and that the machine is fully stopped before tool changes. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to maximize tool life and bore finish quality. Follow shop-standard speeds and feeds for solid carbide reaming; do not use speeds or feeds appropriate for high-speed steel tooling.
