The HERTEL 45675097 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in machine tool applications. With a 0.192-inch diameter and a 4-flute straight-flute geometry, this reamer produces tight-tolerance, smooth-finish bores in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The bright polished finish reduces built-up edge and aids chip evacuation. At 3 inches overall length with a 1-inch flute length, it is sized for shallow-to-moderate depth reaming operations. The straight shank mounts directly in standard drill chucks or collet holders on CNC machining centers, manual mills, and drill presses. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional spindle rotation.
This reamer is suited for production and maintenance machining environments where hole diameter accuracy and surface finish are critical. Typical applications include bearing bore finishing, dowel pin hole preparation, and close-tolerance fit work in metalworking shops, tool rooms, and maintenance departments. The solid carbide construction makes it appropriate for use in harder workpiece materials where high-speed steel tooling loses dimensional consistency. It is sold individually and is intended for use in chucking setups on powered machine tools, not for hand reaming.
Designed as a machine-chucking reamer for use in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and drill presses equipped with standard drill chucks or collet systems accepting a straight shank tool.
Secure the straight shank firmly in a collet or drill chuck before starting the spindle. Power down and lock out the machine before changing or inspecting tooling. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain bore finish quality. Do not use this tool for hand reaming operations, as chucking reamers require machine-controlled feed rates to hold dimensional accuracy.
