The HERTEL 45674959 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in metal and alloy workpieces. With a 0.171-inch cutting diameter and a bright polished finish, this reamer delivers consistent bore sizing and surface finish in production and job-shop environments. The straight shank allows direct mounting in standard drill chucks or collet holders. Four straight flutes with a right-hand cutting direction provide smooth material removal with minimal chatter. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals reach for this reamer when tight hole tolerances are required after drilling.
This chucking reamer is suited for light to medium material stock removal in CNC machining centers, manual lathes, and drill presses. The 0.875-inch flute length accommodates typical through-hole and shallow blind-hole applications in the 0.171-inch diameter class. The solid carbide construction makes it appropriate for harder workpiece materials and high-speed machining cycles where high-speed steel tooling would wear prematurely.
Designed as an OEM-style chucking reamer for use in standard straight-shank toolholders, collet chucks, and drill chucks accommodating a 0.171-inch diameter cutting tool.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the reamer. Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized collet or drill chuck to minimize runout. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain bore finish quality.
