The HERTEL 45674538 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in tight-tolerance machining applications. With a reamer diameter of 0.0775 inches and a 4-flute straight flute geometry, this tool delivers consistent dimensional accuracy in small-bore applications. The bright (polished) finish reduces friction and improves chip evacuation during the cut. At 1.75 inches overall length with a 0.5 inch flute length and straight shank, this reamer is sized for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills where close-tolerance final sizing is required. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional spindle rotation.
This chucking reamer is suited for production and toolroom environments where bore sizing in the 0.0500 to 0.0999 inch diameter range is required. It is commonly used in precision component manufacturing, instrument machining, and medical device fabrication where finished hole tolerances demand a dedicated reaming operation after drilling. The straight shank accepts standard collet chucks and drill chucks. This tool is not configured as a dowel pin or over/under size reamer, making it appropriate for standard diameter finishing passes.
Designed as a standard chucking reamer for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling machines equipped with collet or drill chuck toolholding systems accepting straight-shank tooling in this diameter range.
Chucking reamers are installed by machinist or toolroom personnel. Ensure the workpiece and machine spindle are fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the straight shank firmly in a collet chuck or drill chuck to minimize runout, which directly affects finished bore accuracy. Always apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material and avoid excessive feed rates, as overfeeding a reamer will reduce tool life and degrade bore finish.
