The HERTEL 42094 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit designed for drilling into hard, abrasive, and high-strength materials in demanding shop and field applications. Built from M35 cobalt steel and finished with an oxide and gold coating, it runs cooler and resists wear longer than standard high-speed steel bits. The 135-degree split point self-centers on contact, reducing the need for a center punch and minimizing walking on hard surfaces. At 4.921 inches overall length with a 3.189-inch spiral flute, it fits standard jobber-length drill chucks and works in both benchtop drill presses and handheld drill motors.

This bit is suited for metalworking trades, maintenance technicians, and fabricators who regularly drill stainless steel, alloy steel, cast iron, titanium, and other tough materials. The right-hand cutting direction and regular spiral flute geometry make it compatible with conventional drill press setups and CNC drilling operations. Installation Notes

Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling and confirm the drill chuck is tightened on the straight shank with a chuck key before applying power. Use cutting fluid or coolant appropriate for the base material to extend bit life, particularly when drilling stainless or alloy steels. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use and replace the bit if the split point is damaged, as a worn point increases thrust and reduces hole accuracy. This bit does not support coolant-through application.
