The HERTEL 41120668 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in ferrous and hard alloy machining applications. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel with a TiCN coating, it delivers elevated heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The cutter measures 3/4 inches in diameter with a 3/4-inch length of cut and a 2-7/8-inch overall length. Four right-hand helical flutes in a coarse pitch geometry break chips efficiently and reduce cutting forces during heavy roughing passes. The 3/4-inch shank diameter provides solid gripping surface in standard end mill holders. This tool is installed by machinists and tool room technicians in milling operations on manual and CNC machines.
This end mill is suited for roughing operations in job shops, production machining, and maintenance repair environments. The coarse pitch flute design promotes chip evacuation when removing large amounts of stock in steels, stainless alloys, and other tough materials. Center-cutting capability allows for direct plunge entry where needed. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard right-hand spindle setups common to vertical and horizontal milling machines.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use roughing end mill for standard 3/4-inch end mill holders and collet chucks used in vertical and horizontal milling applications.
Installation and tooling changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety procedures. Secure the 3/4-inch shank in a properly sized end mill holder or collet to the recommended clamping torque specified by the holder manufacturer. Inspect the cutting edges and TiCN coating before use and discard the tool if chipping or coating delamination is observed. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for feed rate and depth of cut when setting up roughing operations.
