The HERTEL 41115064 is a single-end roughing end mill designed for aggressive material removal in milling operations. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating, this tool handles tough ferrous and non-ferrous materials with extended tool life. It features a 1-inch cutting diameter, 5 flutes, and a 3-inch length of cut. The 5-flute roughing geometry produces a chip-breaking wave profile along the cutting edge, reducing cutting forces and heat buildup during heavy slotting, profiling, and roughing passes. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals reach for this style of end mill when cycle time and material removal rate matter most.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC vertical machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines where high-volume stock removal is the priority. The 1-inch shank diameter provides a rigid fit in standard milling chucks, collets, and end mill holders. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with conventional spindle configurations. At 5.5 inches overall length with a regular-length classification, it fits standard tool-length offsets without extended-reach concerns. It is appropriate for roughing passes in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials before a finish pass with a standard end mill.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use roughing end mill for standard 1-inch end mill holders, milling chucks, and collet systems used in CNC and manual milling applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the holder and torque the set screw or collet nut to the holder manufacturer's specification. Because this is a non-centercutting end mill, do not plunge directly into solid material — use a pre-drilled entry point or a ramping toolpath to engage the cut.
