The HERTEL 336-008560 is a solid carbide countersink designed for precise chamfering and seat preparation in metalworking and fabrication applications. Built with a 3/4-inch head diameter, an 82-degree included angle, and six flutes, it delivers smooth chip evacuation and consistent finish quality on a range of materials. The 1/2-inch straight cylindrical shank provides secure tool holding in standard chucks and collets. Uncoated bright finish allows for easy wear inspection. This tool is intended for use by machinists, tool and die makers, and skilled tradespeople working with drill presses, milling machines, or CNC equipment.
This countersink is suited for countersinking operations in alloy steel, cast iron, and glass-reinforced plastic. The 82-degree included angle matches common fastener seat geometries used in industrial and structural assemblies. The six-flute configuration reduces chatter and improves surface finish compared to fewer-flute designs, making it appropriate for production environments where finish quality and hole-to-hole consistency are critical. It does not include a pilot and is configured as a single-end tool.
Rated for use in alloy steel, cast iron, and glass-reinforced plastic per manufacturer specification. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production countersink for machine shop and fabrication applications requiring an 82-degree seat angle.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized collet or drill chuck before operation and confirm the tool is running true before engaging the workpiece. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Do not exceed manufacturer-recommended speeds and feeds for the material being machined.
