The HERTEL 334-302080 is a solid carbide countersink designed for precision chamfering and countersinking operations in metalworking and fabrication environments. It features a 3/16 inch head diameter and a 100-degree included angle, making it well suited for flat-head fastener seat preparation where a wide-angle chamfer is required. The 4-flute design promotes smooth cutting action and improved chip evacuation compared to single-flute styles. The straight-cylindrical shank allows secure clamping in standard drill chucks or collet holders. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and precision fabricators are the typical users of this style of countersink.
This countersink is used in machine shop, production floor, and maintenance-repair-overhaul (MRO) settings where accurate fastener-seat geometry is critical. The 100-degree included angle is commonly specified for aerospace and general-purpose countersink applications where a wider seat angle is called out in the print. The compact 3/16 inch head diameter makes it suitable for work in tight areas or on smaller workpieces where a larger-diameter tool would not fit. It is sold and packaged as a single unit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use countersink for standard drill press, CNC machining center, and hand-drill setups accepting a straight-cylindrical shank tool.
This countersink is installed by machinists or tool-setup technicians in conventional or CNC machine spindles. Ensure the machine is fully powered down and the spindle is locked before inserting or removing the tool. Secure the straight shank firmly in the collet or chuck to the manufacturer-specified clamping depth to prevent slippage during operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain surface finish quality.
